The traditional tournament of the Zeller Oldies is a sporting and social highlight that has been taking place every two years, now for the 17th time. Alongside the sporting competition, the social aspect is the most significant component of the tournament. Thousands of hockey enthusiasts have enjoyed their time in the heart of Europe since 1988.

The binding registration for the tournament must be submitted no later than February 15, 2023. Registrations will be processed on a 'first come, first served' basis.
The maximum number of teams is 32.
The tournament will take place from Wednesday, October 1st, to Sunday, October 5th, 2025. It starts on Wednesday at 6:00 AM and concludes with the awards ceremony during the Hockey Night on Saturday.
Please plan your arrival and stay so that you can be present for the first games in Zell am See. Each team must be able to play a game on the first day.
The official Castle Evening at the historic Kaprun Castle is an integral part of the tournament and involves significant organizational and financial expenses. Therefore, participation is mandatory for all participants. Accordingly, the costs for the exclusive castle rental, multiple live bands, folklore performances, 2 drinks, and transfers are due along with the registration fee.
Since the minimum number of players per team should be 11 individuals, this forms the basis for the preliminary calculation regardless of the actual number of individuals during the awards ceremony. If the team consists of more than 11 players, the corresponding adjustment will be made no later than the start of the tournament.
The official castle evening on the historic Kaprun Castle is an essential part of the tournament with a high organizational and financial effort and therefore obligatory for all participants. Accordingly, the cost of the exclusive castle rental, several live bands, folklore performance, transfers and 2 drinks per player, will be invoiced in advance with the tournament fee.
As every team should consist of a minimum of 11 players, we have taken this number as a basis for our calculations. If a team has more than 11 players we will recalculate your costs at the beginning of the tournament.
The tournament is played in 4 age groups:
- Group 1: Age 40 and above
- Group 2: Age 50 and above
- Group 3: Age 60 and above
- Group 4: Age 70 and above
"Under-age players" are allowed based on the following guidelines:
- In Group 1: 3 players between 37 - 40
- In Group 2: 3 players between 47 - 50
- In Group 3: 3 players between 57 - 60
- In Group 4: 3 players between 67 - 70
The tournament fee (needs to be recalculated due to increased prices) includes the registration fee as well as the costs of the HOCKEY NIGHT for a minimum of 11 players. For each additional player the entry fee for the Hockey Night will be charged at the start of the tournament.
In case of withdrawal from the tournament after July 15, 2025, the tournament fee will be retained.

A team must consist of at least 10 players and 1 goalkeeper.
The tournament will be played according to the official IIHF rules, without body checking and slap shots. Official association referees will officiate the games.
The tournament is financially supported by contributions from the Tourism Association, the city, and partner hotels. Without these contributions, it would not be possible to organize the tournament under these conditions. For this reason, we must insist that participation in the tournament can only be confirmed by the organizing committee after pre-reservation has been made by the organizing committee.
We will do our best to accommodate your hotel preferences. Depending on availability, it may be necessary to use another partner hotel. However, the same standard/category will be guaranteed. We will promptly communicate with you regarding this matter.
After the pre-reservation has been made and confirmed by our partner hotel, the further booking and payment process will be handled directly between the participants and the property owner."
